Public Education in Enid

Enid Public Schools consists of one high school, three junior high schools and ten elementary schools, which are commonly referred to as "neighborhood" schools. The district also has a nationally recognized alternative school, as well as an adult education center. The heart and soul of the district is its teachers and students, whose annual test scores continue to exceed state and national averages. In February 2003, Enid voters approved more than $25 million worth of improvements for the district.  Before the long-range project is complete, every building will receive extensive improvements -- new flooring, air-conditioning, lighting, restrooms and more. A $6.4 million addition at Enid High School , which opened in  August 2005,  includes  new classrooms and a multi-counter modern food court area. Through the bond issue, classrooms and labs received new computers, with more technology on the way. Half of the district’s transportation fleet has been replaced as well. Expansion Management Magazine, in its Education Quotient ratings, awarded a Blue Ribbon for academic excellence to the Enid Public School District .  EPS has also been selected by the Kennedy   Center  for Performing Arts as a Partners in Education district.  Information about the school district can be obtained by contacting the Board of Education's Central Office, 500 S.
